Strange new posts

I am in the process of tidying up my online life a bit. I have tested other platforms for various reasons and am likely to give up on them.

Therefore you are very likely to see weird new posts appearing as I import previous blogging attempts into one place. There may even be duplicates.

I am keeping at least one other blog for various social reasons of course but I think Vox can now be moved back into the slot of one of my primary ones, especially given the name change.

Apart from anything else, I am doing the Photo 365 challenge: 1 photo every day for 365 days. Sorry but most of them are desperately mundane and are things that sparked a thought. Or even a desperate attempt at 11:30 to put something, ANYTHING, up to show I hadn't skipped a day....

er, nothing much to say other than I didn't actually buy any of this. Instead I bought the similarly patterned caffeine free variety which was black on gold instead of pink on silver.

Taken while trudging out in to the very shiny night for drink just before the indi LARP last night (as detailed by Nuukie Here) :)

The stars were up, a lovely crescent moon rode high, I could see Mars but the idea of trying to photograph THEM with my iPhone was very short lived ;)

oh, and yes, this is the photo that I should have posted yesterday but didn't.

Sir Elton John says Jesus was super-intelligent gay man ~ I love the CoE response

Linked to this (vaugely) is Claim of U-turn on sex education (UK). Basically a bill stating that all kids 7-11 should have sex & relationship lessons as of 2011 has been allegedly watered down by allowing faith schools to teach it in line with their religious charter.

From this to a school spying on it's kids : US school accused of web spying. This school handed out 1,800 laptops to it's students. these have a tracking option that allows a remote user to activate the webcam & take a photo of the user, and a screenshot, in order to locate it IF STOLEN. However 1 kid was told off by teachers for "engaging in improper behaviour in his home" and that the evidence was an image from his webcam. er... THey have now turned this option off, say it was never used but are conducting a security review.... hmmmm.

I love the disconnect between one thing and another, and the almost voyeuristic view on life as it happens. One of the reasons I am happy with small cameras/camera-phone is the always-there easy-to-use aspect of it.

Hmmm, I took more photo's of the labels than the works, mostly as it felt more like stealing to copy the works.

We did actually go see the The Metropolitan Police Service's Investigation of Fakes and Forgeries Exhibition and wandered to another few. There are some very interesting digital exhibits on: one free & one not.

This scarf is NOT orange. It is actually closer to a hot pink. It was however described as crimson. I cannot find it on their website but am bemused at the (to my eyes) colour being called Crimson. I am annoyed that the photo has it orange.

This couple of pouters were struting down this alley way as if there was absolutely nothing odd going on, no siree :) Made me think that some horrible deed had been done just around the courner.
